Very little has been spoken about how important Eder Militao is to the current Real Madrid setup. The Br azilian’s integration into Los Blancos‘ dynamics was so seamless that one would think he was born and brought up at the academy.
When news of Antonio Rudiger’s signing came in, many thought that Militao would be pushed to the bench. Yet, he has held onto his spot with rock-solid performances and limited the new signing to the bench.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are preparing all the documents for Eder Militao’s new contract. The new deal will see him commit to the Spanish champions until June 2028 with a release clause of €1 billion.
The two parties reached a verbal agreement back in July and it was only a matter of time before the club officially announced the extension. With matters speeding up now, one can expect confirmation in the coming days.
The centre-back signed for Real Madrid in 2019 from FC Porto. His current deal with the club sees him at the Bernabeu until 2025, meaning that the new contract will see him commit a further three years.
This season, Militao has started five games for the men in white. He was ruled out of action during the team’s 3-0 win over Celtic in the first week of September but made his return in two weeks during the Madrid derby.
So far this season, the Br azilian averages 1.5 interceptions, 1.5 tackles, two clearances and four duels won per game. Heading into the busy month of October, he will be a regular and crucial part of the starting lineup and will look to maintain his high level.
