Real Madrid told to pay €30 million+ to sign priority goalkeeping target

The alarm bells are ringing at the Valdebebas. Real Madrid play their first La Liga game of the season tomorrow and are currently without a solid option between the sticks.

Thibaut Courtois suffered an unfortunate injury in training yesterday as he ruptured his ACL. He will undergo surgery later this week and is expected to miss most of the upcoming campaign for his recovery.

Moreover, Andriy Lunin’s constant exit links reflect doubt over his ability to take over as a full-time starter at the club.

The administration are on the hunt to find a new goalkeeper, and Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou has emerged as a leading candidate.

According to reports from Rodrigo Faez of ESPN, the Seville-based side are asking for over €30 million for his signature.

Bono’s release clause on his current contract stands at €50 million. However, the player has an agreement with Los Nervionenses that would allow him to leave for a lower fee worth around €20 million this summer.

But with Real Madrid coming calling, the Andalusian outfit have jacked up their asking price and are now seeking in excess of €30 million for their player.

Considering that Real Madrid only need a new goalkeeper’s services until Courtois’ recovery, however, they prefer a season-long loan over a permanent transfer.

That offer does not appeal as much to Sevilla who are on an objective to generate funds.

Bono is reportedly the administration’s top preference to replace Courtois. However, there are some big names who have been offered to Los Blancos.

Spanish legend and former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is strongly considered an option, although Carlo Ancelotti is not a big fan of the 32-year-old’s arrival.

Yet another name offered to the Merengues is Hugo Lloris. The World Cup winner has been up amongst the best in the world in recent years but is not a very appealing option at 36 years of age.
