Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has dealt with an injury issue over the last few weeks but he could now return to the starting eleven against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Partenopei picked up a 2-1 win over Atalanta in the Serie A at the weekend, crowning Walter Mazzarri’s return to the club with a vital win. Osimhen did feature in the game but he came on from the bench, having recovered from the injury in some capacity.
Il Mattino said today that after two months of absence, it seems all but certain that Osimhen will start against Real Madrid in what will be a vital game for Mazzarri’s side. While Osimhen isn’t currently fully fit, but risking a start against Los Blancos makes sense for the Partenopei, who had narrowly lost the previous encounter between the two sides.
Giacomo Raspadori had started upfront in the previous game and with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia likely to start against Real Madrid, the Nigerian should start upfront.
