Real Madrid signed Kylian Mbappé as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain this past summer.
However, the Spanish club could be eyeing another player from the Parisians to bolster its midfield.
Los Blancos lost a crucial midfield player this past summer when Toni Kroos retired. As a result, club president Florentino Pérez must figure out how to replace the German in the long term.
This 2024-25 season, Real Madrid will count on players like Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, etc., to compensate for the loss of Kroos. Still, the task will be if any player on the midfield depth chart can replace him.
Nonetheless, if no one can replace Kroos’ impact in the midfield, Real Madrid will need to look elsewhere. Defensa Central reports that PSG midfielder Vitinha, under contract until 2027, is on the reigning UEFA Champions League radar.
The report also adds that Real Madrid will monitor the midfielder throughout the season to make an offer next summer. Furthermore, the Spanish outlet notes a nonexistent relationship between the two clubs.
Still, they inform that the La Liga side are confident that, when the time comes, the pressure that the player can exert will help complete his signing.
Developed at Porto, the Vila das Aves native joined PSG in 2022 for €41.5 million. Since then, he’s played 97 matches, scored 12 goals, and provided nine assists. His market value has now risen to €60 million, per Defensa Central.
