Real Madrid fans will be thrilled to know that Los Blancos are already planning to make a few signings in the upcoming winter transfer window in January.
The La Liga leaders have shown a lot of promise this season as they have only suffered a single defeat to Atletico Madrid in the league campaign.
Their primary problem has to be in their defense with incessant injuries to Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba.
Recently even Dean Huijsen has suffered a knock during his international duty and is a doubt for the upcoming El Clasico whereas Alaba is again out with a muscle overload and may remain on the sidelines for a week or more, missing the El Clasico.
Given the current scenario of defenders, Real Madrid may enter the January transfer window in search of a new defender.
As per reports via Real Madrid Confidencial, Real Madrid are eyeing a January move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who is currently running out his contract and will be available for free transfer.
The 25-year-old is one of the most in-demand defenders in the market and while most of the clubs are eyeing a free transfer for the England international, Real Madrid are looking to evade the competition, and they are ready to dish out €30m for Guehi.
Guehi has been a key part of Crystal Palace's rise under manager Oliver Glasner as they won the FA Cup last season followed by the FA Community Shield earlier this season.
The 25-year-old has been extremely consistent over the last few years and has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.
He brings exceptional game reading and box defending capabilities coupled with his leadership, aerial prowess and physical which makes him one of the most efficient defenders in Europe.
Guehi was on the verge of joining Liverpool on deadline day this summer, but the move eventually fell off as Palace didn't have enough time to secure a replacement.
Recently, Glasner has revealed that the defender will be leaving once his contract expires next summer as he has denied any contract extension.
However, it will be extremely important for Guehi to select a team where he will get regular gametime as he continues to be a crucial player for England in next year's World Cup.
Apart from Real Madrid, clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and several other clubs are interested in the England international.
But if Los Blancos decide to make a move for him in January, then it would be interesting to see if any other team compete with them or not.
