Santiago Bernabeu crowd lost patience with two Real Madrid players during Man City encounter

Real Madrid’s slump at the Santiago Bernabeu deepened as the team suffered their second consecutive home defeat, falling 1–2 to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League just days after their disappointing 0–2 loss to Celta Vigo.

While the performance against City was noticeably more intense, the result once again went against them, leaving the fans restless and the atmosphere inside the stadium tense.

To their credit, Madrid showed far more commitment than they did in the league.

Yet even with their improvement, City proved superior for large stretches. If not for Thibaut Courtois’ brilliant saves, the defeat could have been even heavier.

However, despite the effort, the Bernabeu crowd remained unconvinced.

Against City, the supporters made their frustration known. As the clock ticked toward full-time, the whistles grew louder, and the players felt the hostility seep from the stands.

According to SPORT, the player most harshly targeted was Vinicius Jr. The Bernabeu turned its attention squarely on him after he squandered several attacks in the dying minutes.

With Madrid throwing six forwards onto the pitch in search of an equaliser, Vinicius delivered three poorly judged crosses.

Each miscue invited louder whistles, and the winger became the focal point of the crowd’s anger.

The outlet mentions that he was not the only one singled out. Moments earlier, defender Asencio miscleared a ball that handed possession directly to Manchester City.

The immediate reaction from the stands was a cascade of boos, prompting Asencio to gesture back, urging supporters not to turn on the team.

That response only infuriated the crowd further. Although he received a polite applause when substituted, his expression made clear that the exchange with the supporters had struck a nerve.

As the final minutes approached, the tension inside the stadium boiled over. Before stoppage time was even announced, fans began streaming toward the exits, leaving the Bernabéu partially empty as the match concluded.
