Real Madrid midfielder, Rubén De La Red says that he is convinced he will play football again and explain that he should be back exercising in the next two weeks.
After fainting on the pitch at the Bernabéu last October, Rubén De La Red has said today that he will come back and play again.
The Real Madrid midfielder has not exercised since the incident in the Copa Del Rey, but AS reports today that he should be doing some in two weeks time.
It is reported that his comeback will be very slow, and will be done under strict supervision from the medical team, with April the date for his possible return to the training ground.
After that, he will be hoping to have a long pre-season with the club and be ready for the next term.
Speaking today he sounded optimistic about his chances of recovery, saying:' I am convinced that I will play football again.'
The news will no doubt please Real Madrid fans around the world, who have not seen De La Red since that night against Real Unión.
Even with a long recovery period the midfielder knows too that there is no guarantee that he will play again, but he is optimistic that as long as it is all done well, he will be able to.
The good news for him is that there is no pressure on him at all, with Lassana Diarra bought in as cover in the midfielder in his absence.
That, along with the long summer, should mean that De La Red returns as good as new for the next season.
