Modric returns to the squad, Vinicius doesn’t make the list.
Real Madrid published their squad list for Wednesday’s home match against Leganes.
REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola and Altube.
Defenderss: Carvajal, Militão, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo and Mendy.
Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde and Isco.
Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Lucas Vázquez, Jovic and Rodrygo.
As expected, neither Gareth Bale —calf injury— nor James Rodriguez —traveling to Colombia with his newborn child— will be available for this game.
It’s surprising to see that Vinicius Jr has not been included on the squad list either. The Br azilian winger is struggling right now and while he will have more chances to play down the road, it’s clear that Zidane doesn’t have him too high on the current depth chart. In fact, the French coach just made room for Rodrygo Goes, who could be starting another game on the right wing unless Zidane decides to start Lucas Vazquez.
Modric is back with the team and could feature in the XI as well.
